Firstly, I'm not sure it's even possible to put down animals in any area except your farm. Secondly, even if it is, there's a possibility the Feeding Service and any other later additions to animal care will not work if your barn is not on your farm. Thirdly, you cannot build on berry spawning tiles or monster spawning tiles, which will greatly inconvenience you when building or expanding your barn; if you build around them, you'll have berries or bats spawning in your barn. Fourthly, the more animals you acquire, the more produce you will have to ferry back to the shipping box by your house every day.
The only reason I can think of to build your barns in a different area is in order to save space, but once you've paid off your first farm debt you will likely have far more farm space than you will ever need. The next farm upgrade will give you even more.
If you're really concerned about saving space, the space-saving barn design tactics on the Raising Animals page may help you to keep your barns as small as possible. Otherwise just focus on getting the farm debt and farm upgrade.
ok, next question. what should i buy, and what should i craft, out of the craftable things, when it comes to tools, weapons, armour, etc. umbrella and sleeping bag included in the lists. oh, and also, when it asks if i wanna rate the game, i'd love to, but it doesn't show me how. am i missing something or what? what do i gotta do? :)
If you are playing on kongregate then there should be 5 stars above the game screen, move the mouse over them to pick a rating
Ryo, I suggest crafting all tools up to iron level. From there, get cows and save money to buy the upgrades from the shop in tungsten form ($3000 at 50%; or as close to that as you can find). As soon as you upgrade to diamond, you can sell them for the same price ($3000). I'd recommend only upgrading your sword, shield, sickle, and hoe to diamond. (Sword and Shield for battling; Sickle and Hoe for hay) You could upgrade your hammer, too, if you really want, I just haven't found it necessary. The watering can and axe are least important as crops and trees will end up being your last priority once you have a barn of 40+ animals making $12000+ per day. I have yet to venture even to the worms, but I have eough money to buy everything I want, except for the super backpack, for which I'll to get the diamond ore.
Basically, what you will want to to will depend on how you play the game and how much money you have at the moment. If you don't have the money for something you want, try to craft it. If you have the money, don't bother and just buy it from the shop (assuming you get it at a decent price).
ok, ty. i just wanna clear one thing up. is there anything that isn't craftable that can only be bought and that i'll need? animals etc not included in that list. also, is there a way to make hay into chicken feed?
The only item that can only be bought that you will most likely need is medicine. Optional items that can only be bought include: recalls, farm debt, farm upgrade, and all the items in the animals shop/seed shop.
No, you cannot at this time convert hay into chicken feed (and you wouldn't want to).
so i noticed that the chicken feeders are only depleted one at a time, even with multiple chickens. also, the aggs aren't being laid every day anymore from a single chicken. am i missing anything?
Sounds like a bug, maybe. If you write about it in the comments on Kong or send a message to the game dev they may be able to fix it.
I have rethought my stupidity, and yes it is worth it to swing once and get 7.5 bucks... wish that was real life
